Have you ever been stuck in a food routine that leaves your taste buds feeling a little flat? Sometimes all you need to do is add a little flavor to the mix.

If you’re participating in our Purification Program, we’ve got some new purification-friendly shake recipes we think you’ll love. And did you know that SP Complete® is available in chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as original and dairy-free formulas? These formulas offer the same essential nutrition as original SP Complete® but with refreshing flavor and give you the chance to mix up your program a bit.

Flavorful Recipes

In general, the vanilla and chocolate flavors can be used with all your favorite shake recipes. But be sure to follow the directions on the container, because you would need to use 4 scoops of either SP Complete flavor in place of 2 scoops of original SP Complete® or SP Complete® Dairy-Free.

“I have tried the new flavors in a number of different shake recipes, and they all tasted great,” Dr. Nab said.

Try our new shake recipes below, or whip up your own concoction. Shake it up and enjoy!

Directions: Thoroughly blend all ingredients, adding ice cubes or cold water until the shake reaches desired consistency.

Garden Glory
1 cup water
4 scoops SP Complete® Vanilla
½ cucumber (unpeeled), chopped
1 kale leaf, stem removed, chopped
2 fresh basil leaves, chopped

Piña Colada Dream
1 cup water
4 scoops SP Complete® Vanilla
1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple, chopped
¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 tablespoon coconut oil

Chocolate Banana Berry
1 cup water
4 scoops SP Complete® Chocolate
½ cup strawberries
1 banana, chopped and frozen

Convenience Is Key

SP Complete® is easy to use because you don’t need to add anything else to make your shake taste great. Maybe you’re out of berries or your bananas are far too ripe. Simply grab your flavor of choice, add water, and shake it up for a nutritious, tasty treat with no blender required.

“Sometimes I add a few blueberries or cherries to the vanilla for a creamy fruit blend,” said Bruce Bond, DC, DACBN. “But even without any added fruit or vegetables, I still enjoy both flavors. And they mix well with just a shaker cup without clumps or inconsistencies.”

It’s All Good

As with the original SP Complete® and SP Complete® Dairy Free, the vanilla and chocolate flavors are gluten-free and vegetarian. And you’ll be happy to know that the added natural flavors are made without the use of monosodium glutamate (MSG).

If you are concerned about added sugar, don’t be. The vanilla and chocolate formulas have less than 1 milligram of added sugars. The extra sweetness comes from monk fruit, a small green fruit found in southeast Asia. Monk fruit extract is said to be so much sweeter than sugar that only a small amount is needed for maximum effect.

“The amount of added sugar is truly negligible,” said Standard Process wellness chiropractor Georgia Nab, DC, MS, CNS. “I don’t think practitioners need to be concerned. One nice thing is that with the new flavors, you don’t have to add fruit to make your shake taste good. By not having to add fruit to the shake for taste, the vanilla or chocolate flavors may offer less sugar overall. This is an added benefit if someone is limiting total sugar intake.”

Purification Friendly

Your patients will be happy to know that all SP Complete® flavors can be used as part of the Standard Process Purification Program. These tasty formulas are an easy way to shake up the purification diet with a flavor boost.

“I like how the flavors fit into the Standard Process 21-day purification program and as part of a fitness protocol,” said Dr. Bond. “I use SP Complete flavors as pre- and post-workout support.”*
